Ctrl + Z...

My buddy, Dylen, mentioned this to me one time.

"Don't you wish life had a Ctrl+Z option?"

Hell yes, I say! I spend a lot of time in various graphics programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator and others on a workday basis. The Windows universal "undo" becomes an incredibly handy feature when dealing with large files for print which require output resolution at 300dpi. Rendering Photoshop effects and manipulating large images can be quite burdening to a pc. Once an effect has been rendered, its result is stored in memory and is very convenient when used to see the "before and after" stages simply by toggling the "undo" feature. Ctrl-z. Before. After. Before. After. This can be a best friend when trying to decide if something is more favorable over the other in a design sense.

So, having dealt with Ctrl-Z on a regular basis, I often feel the need to bring the pinky and index fingers into terms of reality when dealing with life. The pinky fits nicely on the left Ctrl key while the index finger hovers over the "z" key, simply waiting for the command to recall what's already taken place. Don't you wish life was this way? Think of it. Being able to see the before and after affects, in real time - buffered away on some cosmic hard drive waiting to be queried to see the "what ifs?" of a situation.

I have noticed my tendency to use the Ctrl-z feature during my time away from the computer. During these times I can actually feel my left hand jerk when something happens and I'd rather the opposite take place. It's a muscle relfex of sorts.

Anyways, I was just thinking of that earlier after knocking over a glass of water in the living room. Ctrl-Z, take back last movement of left foot. Before? After? Before.
