Enlighten me...

So, radio waves I have heard travel forever. Once a signal has been emitted it travels through our atmosphere and into the depths of space forever to be received by anything that has the capacity to do so. Light, I have heard, is basically the same. However, it is argued that light travels in not only waves but as particles, too: namely "quarks."

Now, since these things travel on-and-on into infinity, can one not assume that the energy is inexhaustible? The radio waves and quarks don't degenerate into nothingness; they simply bounce or deflect and travel on as best they can in straight lines.

Having said that, let's say one has a box that measures 2 cubic feet. At the top of this box is a small hole to allow a strong steady beam of light to shine through via a snake light or some form of focused halogen. The inside of this box is completely lined with mirrors minus the small hole at the top to allow light to pass.

My thought is this: If you consider the known characteristics of light and shine a beam through this small hole in the top of the box, at an angle to avoid loss of light through the hole, should the light not bounce around and reflect infinitely? And when I say infinitely, I do mean even after the light is extracted from the top of the box and a pre-cut stopper with a mirror backing is put in its place.

Common sense tells me this is not the case, but common sense does not explain why. Perhaps someone out there has the answer I'm looking for. Until then I'm going to hunt for the answer to my "quarky" little question.

Inventing Our Evolution...

A good read if you get a couple of minutes. Inventing Our Evolution.

The following site's "media" section is a true find for me. www.futurehi.net

Having read a few of Terence McKenna's (R.I.P.) books
( The Archaic Revival ; Food of The Gods ; The Invisible Landscape ) which happen to be most excellent reads by the way, I have been a long time fan of the exploration of the 99.99999% UNexplored regions of our consciousness. Terence is/was one of the founding fathers of research into and of the psychedelic experience as a whole.

The afore mentioned sight has archived numerous hours of audio interviews from the likes of Robert Anton Wilson, Albert Hoffman (father of lysergic acid diethylamide), Mark Pesce and a couple others. If you have any free time or various mundane activities where you can let your mind follow along with words that seem to trickle from the mouths of some yet spout from those of other psychedelic pioneers, I suggest you take a listen. The files are available for download as MP3s. Plop them on the iPod or whichever DIvice you may fancy.

Dark/Darth Tater [Update]...

It seems as if the majority of the people visiting my blog here lately are out for a google search of "Darth Tater"... I believe my previous post "Dark Tater" is the cause of my recent influx of visitors, but I am nonetheless happy that my page is getting so much attention.

Anyway, if you are looking for "Dark Tater" or "Darth Tater" or even the actual "Darth Vader" (you owe me a thanks for the plug...) for some reason, keep coming back and I'll try to entertain.

Dark Tater... Dark Tater...

Dark Tater... Dark Tater...

God, I'm such a whore...

Thanks,
Puddin'

DI-vice...

I have recently picked up a 128Mb MP3 player. I was unaware of the magnificence of being able to tote around tunes on a small DIvice that is at your fingertips waiting to be plugged into the next inviting USB port. Yeah, 128Mb isn't very much but it's about 3 album's worth of tunes. Seeing as how my commute to just about anywhere I go these days takes less than 20 mins. I'm resisting the temptation to impulsively spend any serious money on music file storage. I've got roughly 20Gigs of tunes at home on my pc - that's close enough.

Anywho, my recent love has been listening to audio interviews/books (will advise later) whenever I have the chance. I didn't quite get the iPod/iRivr/iLikeLILboys hole... err whole thing, but now I sort of do. It's just with any source of media input. If it's convenient and doesn't get in the way, by all means inundate me with data! I certainly like the feeling of walking to my own beat at times. Nobody else can hear - but you.

I have a feeling this little contraption is soon to become my new digital vice.

My new blog...

Welcome to my new blog.

Oh yeah, I've already got one. Almost forgot.

As you may have noticed, it's been a while since I've said much of anything. This seems to be a bit of a phase that I'm currently going through. Not sure what one would call this phase, but being in one is definitely the case. Things are kind of a "muted" weird.

I believe it has to do with several things that have been on my mind recently. Complete with the realization that it's a daunting task trying to come to terms with decisions we all make as adults. That thing called "integrity" is what we're all needing more of these days. Making those decisions concrete to make the thought process more efficient. This allows for having peace of mind that that's that and you have good reason: hopefully.

Anyway, I'm in between classes right now and am about to start up English Comp II. I think this is the main reason I'm kind of in a mute state of mind right now. This seems to be some sort of mental preparation period or possibly my mind simply relaxing during this brief period between semesters. Summer classes start May 31st.

Yeah, it's one little class. But it's tough trying to get your mind back into the school grind. Actually, I'm not sure I was ever in the school grind - hehe. This is really doing me a lot of good though. Hopefully, I can be a professional when I grow up. We'll see.

In the family...

Main Entry: ob·li·ga·tion
Pronunciation: "ä-bl&-'gA-sh&n
Function: noun
1 : the action of obligating oneself to a course of action (as by a promise or vow)
2 a : something (as a formal contract, a promise, or the demands of conscience or custom) that obligates one to a course of action b : a debt security (as a mortgage or corporate bond) c : a commitment (as by a government) to pay a particular sum of money; also : an amount owed under such an obligation obligations, the company went into bankruptcy>
3 a : a condition or feeling of being obligated b : a debt of gratitude
4 : something one is bound to do : DUTY, RESPONSIBILITY

I'm stuck. Not sure what to do. I'm using this as a means to talk-out (with myself) a certain situation that I am currently facing.

3a-b Really has me by the heartstrings. I feel guilty about not doing it... But then again it's just a matter of how I appear in the eyes of others. That is a shame.

Screw it... I'm obligated by #4.

Fabricated Abduction Claim...

No charges? I don't understand how the tax payers of Georgia can let this stand. All of the resources that went into looking for Jennifer Wilbanks I'm sure add up to be a tremendous amount of man/woman hours=money that tax payers are going to have to foot. Having never married, I can try to understand the concept of "cold feet" before one "ties the knot," but to lie about it to her family and authorities seems to bring about some sort of criminal act in my mind.

A nation that has recently been through the likes of a murder case such as the Laci Peterson trial seems to be aching for news porn that keeps people glued to the tele or computer screen via news sites. I don't think this woman deserves jail time of any kind, seeing as how most of our jails and prisons are over crowded with non-violent criminals, but to let this woman go on without any sort of penalty seems absurd. What's going to stop the next person from trying to get this nation's attention or to get their claim to fame by simply making up a story that takes away from much needed resources that should be focused solely on keeping our country safe from terrorists?

I do think the tax payers of Georgia and New Mexico should form a class action lawsuit against Jennifer Wilbanks for tying up said resources. The tax payers should definitely seek to have her, at the very least, repay the bill that accrued during her so called "abduction."

Sound off.
